 We've been to the Outer Banks in North Carolina twice so far. The first trip was without the Outback and we had such a good time that we just had to go back and camp there. The second trip was actually a scheduled trip to Ft. Wilderness, but one of the hurricanes forced us to make alternate plans and we went back to the Outer banks and stayed on the beach.

 I recommend Camp Hatteras during the off season. I suspect that it would be too busy and crowded during the peak times.
